For a traditional english fayre of home cooked food with fresh vegetables, choose The George and Dragon Inn and Restaurant , just a two minute drive out of Stone on the A34. Lunch there represents real value with the main course at just £3.50 from Monday to Saturday. The evening menu is full and varied, often with a chef's special which is well worth trying. It is comforable atmoshphere in The George and Dragon whether you are enjoying a casual lunch or a celebration dinner. Downstairs you can choose to sit in the newly completed and light conservatory; upstairs the restaurant is open on evenings and weekends for intimate dinners or for large parties. The restaurant also caters coach parties.
If you are looking for a snack pub lunch then you will enjoy food served at The Swan Inn , which specialises in real ales to accompany traditional Staffordshire oatcakes with a variety of fillings. You can sit inside by roaring fires in the winter, and on warm summer days and evenings the beer garden offers a most pleasant open and sunny respite from life. For a creative modern cuisine then Granville's Restaurant and Music Bar offers a wide range from nacho snacks through to a three course meal. On these hot days lunch is served outside in the courtyard and in these balmy evenings too. The cosmopolitan atmosphere of Granville's is reflected in the interesting menu which changes to take advantage of vegetables, meat and fish in season. If you enjoy authentic foreign cuisine then opt for Al-Shafiq's Kashmeri Restaurant that has a menu so long that you will be returning to sample it again and again.
